Product Delivery

1. Module Overview

Product Delivery is a key functional module in the LMES system used to configure and control the physical movement of products on the production line. Through a visual graphical interface, it allows users to precisely define various parameters for product delivery, including delivery size, workstation selection, delivery mode, and visual effect control. This module plays an important role in production process modeling and operational management, ensuring that products can be accurately transferred between workstations according to predetermined paths and methods.

  • Component ID: ProductDelivery
  • Component Name: Product Delivery
  • Component Category: run (plugin)

Core Functions: Achieve intelligent delivery control of products on the production line through parameterized configuration, supporting multiple delivery modes and visual effect customization.

2. Scenario Description

In smart manufacturing production lines, products need to flow between different workstations. For example:

  • Assembly Line Scenario: Products need to be delivered from the feeding workstation to the assembly workstation, and then to the inspection workstation
  • Processing Scenario: Workpieces need to move along specific paths between multiple processing workstations
  • Quality Inspection Scenario: Products need to be delivered to quality inspection workstations for inspection

The Product Delivery module allows production managers to visually configure these delivery processes, precisely control delivery speed, range, and visual presentation, ensuring smooth operation of production processes.

3. Function Introduction

Interface Overview

The Product Delivery module adopts a left-side configuration panel design, providing complete delivery parameter setting functions. As shown in the figure below, the interface is divided into two main parts: "Data" configuration area and visualization preview area. All core configuration items are concentrated in the left dark panel, and the right white area is used for real-time preview of delivery effects.

3.1 Delivery Size Configuration

Delivery size defines the spatial occupancy range of products during the delivery process. As shown at the top of the configuration panel, this function provides two key parameters:

  • Width: Numeric input box for setting the width value of product delivery (set to 50 in the example)
  • Height: Numeric input box for setting the height value of product delivery (set to 30 in the example)

These two parameters together determine the visual size of the delivery path, helping users accurately present the product movement range in the 3D view.

3.2 Workstation Selection

The Workstation dropdown selector is used to specify the target delivery workstation for the product. Clicking this dropdown box allows selection from the list of workstations already configured in the system. The example shows "PLA_GX1_Workstation1". This selector is associated with workstation definitions in production line modeling, ensuring products can be accurately delivered to specified locations.

3.3 Delivery Mode Configuration

The Mode selector is the core function controlling product delivery behavior. As shown in the figure, clicking the dropdown arrow expands two delivery mode options:

  • Product Delivery: Standard product transfer mode for normal product flow between workstations
  • Product Outflow: Delivery mode for products leaving the current workstation or production line

The current interface has selected "Product Delivery" mode, which is applicable to most production scenarios.

3.4 Speed and Distance Control

The middle section of the configuration panel provides three fine-grained numeric parameter controls:

  • Stacking Difference: Set to 10, used to control the spacing offset when multiple products are stacked
  • Deviation Correction Speed: Set to 1.0, used for speed adjustment coefficient during position correction in the delivery process
  • Path Width: Set to 60, defining the actual width dimension of the delivery path

These parameters together ensure the accuracy and smoothness of the delivery process.

3.5 Visual Effect Switches

The configuration panel provides four switch controllers for managing the visualization effects of the delivery process:

  • Show Polyline: Blue switch (enabled), controls whether to display the polyline trajectory of the delivery path in the view
  • Reverse: Gray switch (not enabled), controls whether the delivery direction is reversed
  • Border: Red switch (selected), controls whether to display the border line of the delivery area
  • Color: Blue square (selected), used to set the color identification of the delivery path

These switches allow users to customize the visual presentation of delivery according to actual needs.

3.6 Image Association

At the bottom of the configuration panel, there is an Image upload/selection area, displayed as a box with an icon. Users can click this area to associate relevant image resources with product delivery, which is very useful when visual display of product appearance or delivery status is needed.

4. 3D Visualization Effects

After configuration is complete, the system renders the delivery effects in the view in real-time. As shown in the figure below, this is a typical product delivery visualization scenario:

In this 3D view, we can clearly see the following key elements:

4.1 Conveyor Belt Display

The area marked with a red border in the figure is the conveyor belt visualization effect generated according to configuration parameters. This conveyor belt has the following characteristics:

  • Blue Square Products: Multiple blue cubes are displayed on the conveyor belt, representing products or workpieces being delivered
  • Conveyor Belt Texture: The surface of the conveyor belt presents diagonal stripe texture, simulating the appearance of a real conveyor belt and enhancing visual realism
  • Product Spacing: Products maintain a certain spacing between them, which is precisely the effect controlled by the "Stacking Difference" parameter
  • Path Width: The width of the conveyor belt corresponds to the configured "Path Width" parameter (60)

5. Best Practices and Precautions

Configuration Recommendations

  1. Size Settings: Width and height should be set according to actual product size, with appropriate margins reserved to avoid visual collisions
  2. Workstation Selection: Ensure the selected target workstation is correctly configured in production line modeling
  3. Mode Selection:
    • Use "Product Delivery" mode for flow between workstations
    • Use "Product Outflow" mode for products leaving the line or exiting the production line
  4. Speed Parameters: Deviation correction speed is recommended to be set between 0.5-2.0; too large or too small may affect delivery stability
  5. Stacking Difference: Set reasonably according to product size to avoid visual overlap or excessive spacing between products

Through flexible configuration and intuitive 3D visualization of the Product Delivery module, you can precisely control product flow on the production line, achieving efficient and visualized production management. The real-time 3D simulation function provided by the system allows you to verify configurations in a virtual environment in advance, greatly improving production line debugging efficiency.
